About The Center for Dermatology Care

Dr. Andrew J. Kaufman specializes in Mohs Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery and is the Medical Director of The Center for Dermatology Care in Thousand Oaks and Santa Barbara California. Andrew Kaufman, MD, is one of an elite group of physicians specially trained in hair transplantation, and has been performing these procedures since 1988. Double board certified in internal medicine and dermatology, he will work with you to diagnose what’s going on, look at all the options, and come up with the best treatment plan for a natural looking, healthy head of hair.

Education and Experience

Dr. Kaufman received his medical degree at the University of California at Los Angeles School of Medicine. After medical school he completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and became board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Upon completion of his internal medicine training he completed a residency in Dermatology at the University of California at Los Angeles. He is board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology and is one of a small group of specialists with board certification in two specialties. Dr. Kaufman was invited to complete a fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Surgery at the University of California at San Francisco under the direction of Drs. Roy Grekin and Richard Glogau.

Dr. Kaufman is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine (Dermatology) at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery and was elected to the Board of Directors of that prestigious organization. Dr. Kaufman was also nominated and elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, an honor reserved for physicians dedicated to ongoing individual service and contributions to the practice of medicine. Dr. Kaufman is a member of many medical organizations including the American College of Mohs Surgery, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, California Medical Association, International Society for Hair Restoration Surgery, and Masters Dermatology Association.

It is with extensive precautionary measures per the COVID-19 CDC guidelines that our Tustin offices will be temporarily closed. However, our Thousand Oaks Office will remain open Monday – Wednesday from 8:00AM – 12:00 PM but closed Thursday and Fridays.

In Addition, our Santa Barbara offices will be open up to 2 days a month or as needed for any urgent needs our patients may require.
